Ok, the Pokémon Day event started. Have fun catching those Pikachu. Bad news: just walked outside and didn’t see any Pikachu. Apparently the spawn rates have not increased like with the Santachu event so we will need to look at the list of Pokémon nests to find those party animals.
But maybe there is a surprise that Niantik didn’t tell us. Wait and see.
I also updated the pages regarding the base stats of Pokémon as well as the move-set ranking. Come back soon, but leave your hat on!
Well, glad to see that Niantik finally released Gen 2 Pokémon, but many hardcore players are surprised by many of the unannounced changes in move-sets of their favorite Pokémon and especially Dragonite. A quick update on what happened with the till now best defender and attacker in Pokémon GO.

It’s finally official! Niantic just revealed that new Pokémon are coming later this week. Here is the information as given in the press release.
- Additional Pokémon: More than 80 new Pokémon as well as Pokémon with gender-specific variations will start rolling out in Pokémon GO.
- New Evolutions: Some Pokémon from the Kanto region (generation one) will soon be able to evolve into Pokémon that inhabit the Johto region (generation two)! Some new evolutions need Evolution items from PokéStops.

Busy week-end due to the Valentine event, but I still found time to release Pokescrap. Pokescrap scrapes pokemap websites, such as SGPokemap and others.
Just as visiting the website with a browser, Pokescrap will request data about Pokémon spawns in a certain area and store the results in a SQLite database.
The Pokescrap code
The Python code is build upon Scrapy, a very powerful framework for extracting data from websites. Scrapy is extensible, as a consequence it is rather trivial to extend Pokescrap to send an email when Lapras spawns in the area, or to send a notification to your phone. These capabilities will be added in the near future.

Thanks to Niantik, Singapore is now coloring pink on the map. According to the Twitter announcement and post on the website, the Valentine event will last from February 9th, 3 AM SGT to February 16th, 3 AM SGT.
