Pokémon GO Community Day

Pokémon GO Community Days started in January 2018.  During 3 hours, on one Saturday or Sunday in a month,  trainers can chase a featured Pokémon, which gets a special move, only attainable through evolving during the event.  Several bonuses, such as triple XP or stardust and triple duration of lures further wet the appetite of trainers.

Usually this coincides with the release of the shiny form of the Pokémon, with boosted rates; according to shiny research by the Silphroad, you have a 1 in 24.5 chance for a shiny when you catch a featured Pokémon. Otherwise, shiny chances are only 1 in 450!

Fast TMs and Charged TMs will not grant exclusive moves during Community Day; to learn the exclusive move, you must catch or evolve the featured Pokémon during Community Day hours.  Starting from October 2018, the time to evolve the Pokémon is extended by one hour.

Here in Singapore you will see a large crowd of trainers walking around in parks or gathering at locations with multiple Pokéstops. A great way to get to know your fellow trainers and boast about the amount of shiny Pokémon caught.
